Scrambling Lily

A small lilly against a dry forest floor

We uncovered a few specimens of Scrambling Lily (Geitonoplesium cymosum) after clearing the Three Trees Triangle for the National Tree Day plantings. This native vine is probably a remnant from the original woodland before clearing. It is normally found in similar dry forests and rainforests of eastern Australia. It has a mauve to white flower and produces small spherical black berries. The leaves are variable leading to confusion to its classification. However, there is only one species in the genus.
